Released in 1974, the Pioneer SX-434 was among the more budget friendly offerings from Pioneer, but that's not to say it can't compete with the best of them. With a modest 15 watts per channel, it's more about what it does with it, and no watt is wasted here! A classic looking receiver that would be at home on any music fan's shelf, this particular receiver has seen some love. The faceplate features two names along with a date (9/18/88) that is scratched into the silver. An anniversary? A birthdate? Some might say it adds to the mystique. While the scratches are permanent, this receiver has otherwise been cleaned to a shine inside and out, gotten a full recap, and has been upgraded with all LED lighting to last many years to come.
